Margao: Union Gymkhana Belgaum prevailed over RCC South Goa by 19 runs in the All India U-13 Exposure Trophy cricket tournament organised by Margao Cricket Youth Club, at KRC ground here today.
Electing to bat first, Union Gymkhana posted a fighting total of 125 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs. Muhammad Abbas with 45 runs to his name, was the top scorer. The other notable contributors were Farhan Shaikh (17) and Tejas Valmiki, who upped the run rate with a cameo of 17 runs in 9 balls. For the home side, Swapnil Nayak, Anay Lakhani, Anurag Bahadur, Aayush Kaushal and Parth Sankpal took 1 wicket each.
In reply, RCC South Goa were restricted to 106/8 in 20 overs (Ruthvik Lad 32, Yuvraj Dabholkar 34; Tejas Valmiki 2/8 in four overs, Mohd Hamja and Shahrukh took 1 wicket each). The Man of the match award was presented to Tejas Valmiki.
