Goa made heavy weather of a modest chase and managed to beat Chhattisgarh by one wicket in a low-scoring match of the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy at VCA Stadium, Nagpur today.
Put into bat, Chhattisgarh were restricted to 81/6 as Goa bowled with discipline. Tarannum Pathan first did exceedingly well with the ball with figures of 2/7 off her four overs. Shikha Pandey also picked up two wickets while Poorva Bhaidkar claimed one wicket.
Tarannum was the highest run-getter with 39 being her contribution off 26 balls (6×4, 2×6). Priyanka (13 not out) and Poorva (13) were the other batters to make double digits contributions as Goa huffed and puffed to make it to the target as they lost nine wickets in the process before reaching 85/9 in 18.4 overs.
