Mapusa RCC beat Panjim Gymkhana by 111 runs, while Ponda-Shiroda RCC defeated Pernem RCC by 101 runs in their respective outings in the Sports Minister Trophy U-14 tournament at Chicalim ground.
In the first match, Mapusa RCC posted a total of 153/6 in 25 overs. Siddhesh Jadhav was the top-scorer with 49 runs. Kushal Satardekar contributed 33 runs while Ishant Tivrekar scored 28 runs.
Panjim Gymkhana’s Sahil Metri took 2 wickets, while Chaitanya Bhosale and Achintya Garg picked up one wicket each.
In reply, Panjim Gymkhana were all out for 42 runs in 15.3 overs. Shaunak Naik (11), Kavish Parab (10) and Vishram Parab (10) got into double figures. Bhavesh MRK bagged 4 wickets to help Mapusa RCC dominate the proceedings and clinch an easy victory. Bhavesh was named man of the match.
In the second match, Ponda-Shiroda RCC posted 172 runs in 25 overs before bundling out their rivals from Pernem for 71 runs. Sanket Jangle and Varthak Keni took four and three wickets respectively. Earlier, Sarthak Gavde cracked 62 runs while Kunal S contributed 43 to power the Ponda side to a big score. Sanket was named man of the match.
