Vasco RCC and Vinod Dhamaskar Cricket Academy opened their respective campaign in the Sports Minister Trophy U-14 Cricket Tournament, with victory at Chicalim ground on Tuesday.
Vasco RCC beat Curchorem-Sanvordem RCC by 5 wickets in the first match while Vinod Dhamaakar CA thrashed U-Net Academy by 10 wickets in the other match.
Put into bat, Curchorem RCC were bowled out for 59 runs in 24.4 overs. Parth Sankpal (3/12), A Thota (2/12) and Kush Raikar (2/12) bowled well for Vasco RCC. In reply, Vasco RCC reached the target comfortably as Yuvraj Dabholkar (23 not out) and Keyaan Thota (14) made good contribution with the bat. Parth was named man of the match.
In the second match, U-Net Academy were all out for 53 runs in 23.4 overs with Saideep Gaude (27) being the chief run-getter. Vinod Dhamaskar CA chased down the target without losing a wicket. Arav Parmar was unbeaten on 21 while his opening partner Aryan Chowgule remained not out on 19. Pratham Prabhugaonkar bagged 3/11 and was named man of the match.
