Porvorim: Young Stars of Moula beat Sakura Cricket Club by five wickets and entered the final of Goa Cricket Association’s ‘B Division’ North Zone Tournament.
Sakura were all out for 105 runs (Umang Gosavi 46; Suraj 4/7) in 30.1 overs while Young Stars of Moula achieved victory 109/5 in 21.4 overs. Sakura’s Sankalp Gawas took four wickets.
Sarthak Walke delivered a crucial all-round performance, first bowling well to return with figures of 3/22 off his eight overs; before guiding Young Stars of Moula to victory with an unbeaten 34-run knock off 51 balls (5×4) in a low-scoring affair. Akshay Khopade remained not out on 31.
Sarthak and Akshay came together when Moula were in a precarious situation at 37/5 in the eighth over. The duo batted well to raise the match-winning unfinished sixth-wicket partnership of 72 runs.
