Saibaba SC 16th All-Goa T20: Eagle Sports Club and Bicholim Cricket Club move ahead

AMONA: Eagle Sports Club and Bicholim Cricket Club moved ahead in the ongoing Saibaba SC 16th All-Goa Panchayat and Municipality T20 tournament at Uzzate ground, Amona today.

Bicholim Cricket Club defeated Curchorem Cricket Club by 52 runs after Eagle Sports Club had scored a 18-run victory over Panjim XI.

Put into bat – Eagle SC powered by Sunny Kanekar’s fantastic century (100 off 59 balls), galloped to a huge total of 187/6. Sunny blasted seven sixes and seven fours in his electric inning. Panjim XI bowlers Hemant Khot and Aryan Mashelkar took two wickets each.

Panjim XI put up a resolute fight in pursuit but were restricted to 169/6. Deeptesh Halankar (54 off 25 balls; 6×4, 4×5), Prashant Patil (51 off 46 balls; 4×5) and Aryan Mashelkar (47 off 33 balls; 6×1, 4×7) made the main contributions with the bat. For Eagles SC, Gauresh Gayak and Navnath Kamat picked up 2 wickets each.

Sunny Kanekar was named Man of the Match and the award was presented by Milind Devasthali.

In the next match, Bicholim CC opted to bat first and posted a deluge of runs in a total of 201/5. Umang Gosavi was the top scorer with a blazing knock of 85 runs from 36 balls which included seven sixes and six fours. Anish Mhambre slammed a quickfire half-century, contributing 59 runs off 28 balls studded with 5 sixes and 5 boundaries. Alam Khan also played aggressively for his 19-ball 32 with the help of 3 sixes and 3 boundaries. Among the Curchorem bowlers, Chandresh Desai was the most successful with 2/31 off his 4 overs.

In reply, Curchorem CC were bowled out for 149 in 15.5 overs. Sanjay Naik (37 off 15 balls), and Saiesh Desai (26 off 17 balls) were their top two run-getters.

Bicholim CC bowlers spearheaded by Shubham Dessai (3/18) did a fine job.

Umang Gosavi was presented the Man-of-the Match award by Suraj Malik.
