Porvorim: Shubham Tari grabbed a five-wicket haul and helped the hosts Goa to skittle out Manipur for 98 runs and enforce a follow-on, on the second day of their Plate group Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match here on Friday.
Manipur were 55/1 in their second innings and trail Goa by 223 runs. Goa were earlier bowled out for 376 runs from the overnight total of 302/7.
Shubham was the pick of the bowling attack with his figures reading 5/41. Ruthvik Naik and Mohit Redkar took two wickets each. Skipper Darshan Misal claimed one wicket.
Overnight unbeaten on 39, Samar Dubhashi – who had added 80 runs for the sixth wicket with Darshan yesterday, ensured more resistance in the morning session along with Ruthvik Naik (19). The classy wicketkeeper-batter played his part in another important partnership, that of 56 runs for the 8th wicket. Samar’s 75-run knock comprised 7 boundaries. No. 10 batter Heramb Parab contributed 12 runs.
After the visitors were bundled out in 25.1 overs with P Prafullomani (25) being the top-scorer, Manipur opener Karnajit Y. has offered majority of the resistance in their second inning so far; while his partner Ronald M. (8) was dismissed cheaply by captain Darshan.
