Porvorim: Goa made the home advantage count and completed a nine-wicket victory inside three days over Manipur, in the season-opening Ranji Trophy 2024-25 Plate Group match at Goa Cricket Association academy ground here on Sunday.
The hosts required 76 runs to win after Manipur were all out for 353 in their second innings – a much improved show by the visitors having been shot out for 98 in reply to Goa’s first innings total of 376 runs.
The hosts raced to 76/1 in 11.4 overs with opener Rohan Kadam (46 not out) leading the charge with nine boundaries flowing from his bat. Manthan Khutkar was out on 18.
Goa earned six points from the victory with Shubham Tari ( 5/41 & 4/47) named Player of the Match. Darshan Misal-led team next play Sikkim away in Rangpo from 18th to 21st October.
