Porvorim: Suyash Prabhudesai scored a century while captain Darshan Misal posted a half-century as Goa ended Day 1 of Ranji Trophy 2024-25 Plate group match against Manipur at 302/7 at Goa Cricket Association academy ground here on Friday.
Put into bat, Goa rode on opener Suyash’s 120-run knock during which he struck 17 boundaries, to lay some sort of a foundation for a decent total, despite loss of early wickets. The hosts lost 3 more wickets after the 94-run partnership for the fourth wicket came to an end when Snehal Kauthankar (41) was dismissed. Darshan then joined Suyash in the middle and after an addition of 43 runs for the fifth wicket, Suyash made the long walk back.
Darshan was out on 51, which consisted five boundaries and a sixer, before Mohit Redkar was dismissed on 5. Wicket-keeper Samar Dubhashi is unbeaten on 39 while Ruthvik Naik is on 1 as the opening day of the First Class season came to a close. Manipur bowlers Rex and Priyojit K took two wickets each.
