MARGAO: Goan Colts scored a narrow 2-run victory over Anand Cricket Academy to win the Late Radhabai Vasant Kamat Rolling Trophy U14 Tournament organised by Sparkling Stars Association with support from Goa Cricket Association and Sports Authority of Goa; in association with Model Margao.
In the final, Goan Colts held their nerve to defend their modest total of 163 as they restricted Anand Cricket Academy to 161/9 in the alloted 45 overs at Margao Cricket Club ground on Sunday.
Batting first, Goan Colts’ innings was characterised by their batters’ failure to make big scores after getting off to a start. Kushal Satardekar with 35 runs, was their top scorer. Shaurya Chodankar (22), Pranjal Singh (20), Vansh Kurtarkar (16) and Rish Pawaskar (14) contributed with the bat.
Anand Cricket Academy’s Shashank Bannatti and Chiranjit SP took three wickets each. Samarth Karadi, Pavandeep Bharadakane and Athu K picked up one wicket apiece.
In reply, Pavandeep Bharadakane waged a valiant battle for Anand Cricket Academy with a fighting knock of 83 runs. The next best contribution was 20 runs by Sachit Shetty. Skandy Shetty (16) and Ram Alabadi (15) also chipped in.
Goan Colts bowlers worked hard with Anurag Bahadur (3/39) being the wrecker in chief. Bhavesh MRK took 2 wickets, while Siddhesh Jadhav and Pranjul Yadav picked up 1 wicket each.

Best Bowler: Anurag Bahadur
Player of the Tournament: Pavandeep Bharadakane.
