FATORDA: Goan Colts and Anand Cricket Academy booked their respective places in the final of Late Radhabai Vasant Kamat Rolling Trophy Under-14 Tournament organised by Sparkling Stars Association and supported by Goa Cricket Association & Sports Authority of Goa.
In the semi-finals played today, Goan Colts beat PTVA Sports Academy by 43 runs at Chicalim ground, Vasco; while Anand Cricket Academy registered a 3-wicket victory over AIM Cricket Academy at GCA ground, Sanguem.
Shaurya Chodankar made the most impactful contribution with the talented allrounder first making 25 runs in the Goan Colts’ modest total of 141 runs in 43.4 overs. He was the chief wicket-taker with a return of 3/11 along side Bhavesh MRK (2/14) and Anurag Bahadur (2/23) as Goan Colts skittled out PTVA for 98 runs (Aryan Khot 29, Advik Desai 17) in the first semis. Ishant Tivrekar (42) and Kushal Satardekar (24) also made valuable runs for the Colts. Arnav Bhujbal (3/34) was the highest wicket taker for PTVA. Shaurya was named player of the match.
In the second semi-final, AIM Cricket Academy posted a total of 142 in 42.2 overs. Sahil Metri was the top-scorer with 38 runs from his bat, Nihal Pednekar (20) and Shaunak Naik (15) made notable contributions. Shashank Bannatti took 3/27 in a player-of-the match award winning display for Anand Cricket Academy, who chased down the target in 43.1 overs. Ashu K (36), Ram Alabadi (17) and Arush (12 not out) helped Anand CA reach 143/7 and enter the final. AIM CA’s Kunal Kudkar took three wickets while Digvijay Rao claimed two wickets.
Goan Colts will clash with Anand Cricket Academy in the final (45 Overs) at the iconic Margao Cricket Club ground on Friday.
