Sanquelim: Five Star Cricket Club thrashed Visual Link Cricketers by 78 runs to win the all-Goa U16 tournament organised by Visual Link Cricketers at NAPEX ground, Sanquelim.
Opting to bat first, Five Star Cricket Club put up a handsome total of 141/2 in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Visual Link Cricketers were shot out for 63 runs in 15.3 overs.
Adeep Miskin (47 off 40 balls) and Sarvambh Naik (43 not out off 53 balls) combined for a fine opening stand of 82 runs. Adeep was the more aggressive of the two as he struck 8 boundaries while Sarvambh registered 4 hits to the boundary.
The strong beginning set the tone for a successful outing for coach Narayan Kambli’s boys, who dismantled the rivals with ease. Mrunal Naik was the chief wicket-taker with a return of 4/18. Shaurya Chodankar picked up 2 wickets; while Adeep, Deepraj Naik and Samarth Dhulapkar took a wicket each.
Adeep was named the Player of the Match for his all-round performance.
