Panaji: Shaurya XI Pirna and Khandola Youth moved ahead in the Betim United Trophy 2023 with victory over Guirim United and Keri Ajoba respectively here on Friday.
Man-of-the match Suraj Shetye’s knock of 62 runs off 53 balls (10×4) boosted Shaurya XI total to 145/5 in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Guirim United were all out for 129 in 17.3 overs. Suharsh Naik (26) and Dhanesh Awate (25) were the notable contributors. Shaurya’s Sagar Sawant and Govind Ghadi took three wickets each.
In the other match, Khandola Youth posted a very good total of 184/8 with Prasad Harle (50 off 25 balls) being the top-scorer. Pralay Gaude did a good job with the ball as he grabbed 5/13 to derail Keri Ajoba’s chase and bag man of the match award. Robin D’Souza was the top-scorer with 44 runs off 25 balls for the Keri side, who were all out for 148 in 18.5 overs.
