ARLEM: Ultracon Madgaon Royals and Mapusa Dream Crushers registered wins in their respective matches at Sarsangan Priority Veterans Cricket Series 2025 on the fourth day at Arlem Cricket Ground.
Match 1: Antruz Aviators vs Ultracon Madgaon Royals
Put in to bat first, Antruz Aviators were on the backfoot losing their top 4 wickets for just 29 runs in the 7th over. Some sensible batting by Sudin Kamat (36), Mahendra Pai Kuchelkar (35) and Rasik Pai Khot (33) helped the Aviators to put on 129 in 20 overs. Pratap Prabhugaonkar and Mahesh Churi picked up 2 wickets each while Yatin Kaisare, Deep Bhende and Samrudh Hegde Desai picked a wicket each.
In reply, Ultracon Madgaon Royals lost their top 3 batters with only 25 on board in the 6th over. A brilliant innings by Sandeep Dalal (38) and later some sensible batting by Yatin Kaisare (28 no) and Rakesh Mallya (38 no) and their 55 run partnership in 32 balls took the Royals home as they reached 130-3 in 16.5 overs. Sudin Kamat was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets while Gomakant Mahambrey picked a wicket.
The following individual prizes were awarded: Yatin Kaisare collected Drogaria Colvalcar Man-of-the Match, Rakesh Mallya received Priority Constructions Best Batter and Sudin Kamat was awarded Wakao Best Bowler.
Match 2: Delite Titans vs Mapusa Dream Crushers
Electing to bat first, Delite Titans put up 151-9 thanks to Sandeep Thali (21), Amresh Kantak (10), Siddesh Desai (10), Shiraj Pai Khot (36), Siddesh Bodke (15), Paresh Prabhudesai (20) and Vishnu Namshikar (11 no). The successful bowlers were Vibhav Pai, Mahesh Kudchadkar and Shailesh Mahajan who picked 2 wickets each while Rupesh Kossambe and Balkrishna Hodarkar took a wicket each.
In reply, Nilesh Prabhudesai (35), Balkrishna Hodarkar (35), Vibhav Pai (37) and Avinash Kossambe (19 no) helped the Mapusa Dream Crushers achieve the target, making 152-1 in 15.3 overs for a comprehensive victory. Brijesh Naik picked the consolation wicket.
The following individual prizes were awarded: Vibhav Pai collected Drogaria Colvalcar Man-of-the Match award, Shiraj Pai Khot was adjudged Priority Constructions Best Batter while Mahesh Kudchadkar picked Wakao Best Bowler award.
