Margao: Cricket Club of Altinho edged out La Paz Garden by 4 wickets to enter the semi-finals of 3rd Chandrakant Karapurkar Trophy T20 Tournament at MCC ground here on Thursday night.
Chasing a meagre target of 80 runs, CC Altinho reached 82/6 in 19.2 overs. Amit Yadav (5/26) of CC Altinho emerged the player of the match.
In what proved to be a tough outing for the batters, Altinho elected to field first. With Amit being the chief tormentor, the La-Paz Garden top-order fell apart in no time. Suraj Dongre (16), Anuj Yadav (16) and Aryan Khutkar (10) entered double digits. Aman Dhooper (3/15) and Vinayak Kunte (2/8) were the other wicket-takers for Altinho.
The chase was not an easy task for Altinho batters, however, a quickfire 33 by Shubham Naik, provided the firepower to the Mapusa-based outfit to get over the line with 4 deliveries to spare.
