ARLEM: Ultracon Madgaon Royals emerged champions, while Antruz Aviators finished runners-up of Sarsangan Priority Veterans Cricket Series 2025 organised by Saraswat Sports Sangh Charitable Trust.
In the final at Arlem Cricket Ground on Sunday, Ultracon Madgaon Royals scored a 14-run victory against Antruz Aviators.
Electing to bat first, Madgaon Royals soon found themselves in a spot of bother as they lost their top 4 batters with only 47 runs on board in 7 overs, with only Deep Bhende (27) offering resistance. A 40 runs partnership between Sandeep Dalal (24) and 63 year old Yatin Kaisare (31 no) revived the Royals to an extent but the middle order couldn’t score at a faster rate against some disciplined bowling by the Aviators as the Royals could only manage 138-9 in 20 overs. Sarvesh Kamat, Rasik Pai Khot, Sudin Kamat and Yogesh Naik each picked 2 wickets while Prasad Bhende took a wicket as well.
In reply, needing to score at 7 runs per over, Aviators batters over-cautious approach, made runs difficult to score, as they struggled to reach only 47 in the 1st 10 overs losing 3 wickets with Sudin Kamat making 32. A 45 run partnership in 36 balls for the 4th wicket between Anup Borkar (27) and Rasik Pai Khot (35) kept the Aviators in the match. However, the Royals came back strongly to suffocate the middle order to lift the champions’ trophy, as Aviators finished at 124-6, falling short by 14 runs.
Mahesh Churi and Sandeep Dalal picked 2 wickets each while Pratap Prabhugaonkar and Samrudh Hegde Desai picked a wicket apiece.

Sandeep Dalal collected Drogaria Colvalcar Man-of-the Match award, Rasik Pai Khot was adjudged Priority Constructions Best Batter while Mahesh Churi picked Wakao Best Bowler award.

The guests, Chirag Datta Naik along with Santosh Kamat and Vithaldas Bhat gave away the prizes. Rakesh Mallya was adjudged Player of the Sarsangan Priority Veterans Series (230 runs and 8 wickets) while Avinash Kossambe was awarded Best Batter (260 runs) and Rasik Pai Khot Best Bowler (10 wickets). Mahendra Pai Kuchelkar won Best Wicketkeeper (15 dismissals), Sandeep Dalal Best Fielder (6 dismissals) while 63 year old Yatin Kaisare received a Special Mention award (141 runs and 9 wickets). Ultracon Madgaon Royals received the Winners Trophy of the Sarsangan Priority Veterans Series while Antruz Aviators had to be contended with the 1st Runners Up trophy.
3rd Place Match: Mapusa Dream Crushers vs Delite Titans
Electing to bat first, Delite Titans put up 137-6 with contributions from Ashutosh Pai Angle (26), Siddesh Desai (35) and Shiraj Pai Khot (35). For the Dream Crushers, Bhushan Pai Vernekar took 3 wickets while Mahesh Kudchadkar, Shailesh Mahajan and Rupesh Kossambe took a wicket apiece.
In reply, Mapusa Dream Crushers chased down the target to win the 2nd Runners up trophy, making 139-4 in 14.3 overs with Vibhav Pai (37) and Avinash Kossambe (35), making the bulk of the scoring. Siddesh Bodke with 2 wickets was the pick of the bowlers and received support from Paresh Prabhudesai and Sachin Neurekar who took a wicket each.
