AMONA: Sachi XI will take on Nageshi Youth Bandoda in the final of Saibaba SC 16th All-Goa Panchayat and Municipality T20 tournament at Uzzate ground, Amona on Sunday (26th January) afternoon.
In the sem-finals today, Sachi XI scored a thrilling 2-wicket victory with one ball to spare over Shirgao Sports Club.
Put into bat, Shirgao put up a fighting total of 143/8 with Swapnil Malik (50 off 26 balls; 6×3, 4×6) and Govind Ghadi (30) making most of the runs. Sachi XI bowlers Gopal Gawas (2/12) and Avishkar Mone (1/21) bowled their quota of 4 overs each economically.
Sachi XI chased down the target with Avishkar Mone playing the key role with his unbeaten knock of 53 runs off 43 balls, which comprised seven boundaries and a sixer. Rohan Naik made a valuable 29 runs off 23 balls, hitting 3 boundaries and 2 sixes. Shirgao bowlers worked hard with Devesh Ghadi and Vithal Ghadi picking up 3 wickets each.
Avishkar Mone was named Man of the Match and the award was presented by Prashant Dessai.
In the second semi-final, Nageshi Youth Bandoda defeated Bicholim Cricket Club by 7 wickets.
Bicholim batted first and posted 131/8 in 17 overs. Shubham Dessai was the top-scorer with 48 runs off 32 balls studded with 5 boundaries and one six. Farhaan Saab scored 25 runs. Babulal Pathan was the best bowler for Nageshi Youth, claiming 3/18 off his 4 overs.
Nageshi reached the victory target 132/3 in 14.3 overs. Shubham Desai delivered a smashing knock of 65 runs in 26 balls comprising seven sixes and 4 boundaries . Kedar Naik contributed 44 runs off 39 balls, including 3 sixes and 2 boundaries. Bicholim CC’s Ratish Tate took two wickets.
Shubham Desai of Nageshi Youth was presented Man of the Match award by Mandar Rao Dessai.
