Margao: Commonwealth Fountainheads registered a convincing win over Ultracon Madgaon Royals by 9 wickets and 34 balls to spare on the 8th Match-day of the 7th edition of Rajdeep Builders Sarsangan Super Series Cricket 2024-25 at MCC Cricket Ground. In the second match, MLT Cricket Club got the better of Vimson Panjim Powerplay by 4 runs in a close encounter. In the floodlight match in the night, SinQ Rangers sailed over Mapusa Dream Crushers by 6 wickets and 11 balls to spare.
Match 1: Ultracon Madgaon Royals vs Commonwealth Fountainheads
Put in to bat first, Ultracon Madgaon Royals openers put up a solid start through Damodar Pai Patnekar (34) and Vishwesh Kamat (29) putting on 66 run opening stand in 6 overs. However the rest of the Royal batters could add only 50 more to the total as they folded up for 116. For the Fountainheads, Amod Borkar picked a hattrick off his 1st three deliveries to start the Royals slide with 3-10 and was assisted by Pratap Prabhugaonkar 2-13, Yash Prabhugaonkar 2-29, Aditya Prabhugaonkar 1-12 and Saish Hegde 1-14.
In reply, the Commonwealth Fountainheads reached the target making 120-1 in 14.2 overs thanks to Amod Borkar (38), Raghuvir Gharse (28) and Aditya Prabhugaonkar 31 not out. Siddesh Desai picked the consolation wicket.

Match 2: MLT Cricket Club vs Vimson Panjim Powerplay
Electing to bat first, MLT Cricket Club put up 144-4 with Atchut Naik Dalal (35), Nityay Kuncolienkar (35) and Kauntey Shenvi 37 not out being the main contributors. Vrushabh Kuncolienkar 2-18, Anurag Borker 1-14 and Pranav Kamat 1-19 were the successful bowlers for the Powerplay.
In reply, Vimson Panjim Powerplay kept losing regular wickets sliding to 90-8 with Pranav Kamat 17, Sandeep Dalal 15, Mahendra Pai Kuchelkar 12 and Arsh Sardesai 28 falling to the guile of MLT bowlers. However Siddhant Kunde 27 not out and Anurag Borker 11 not out led the fightback with a 44 run stand in 27 balls but the Powerplay team could manage 140-8 in 20 overs, falling short of the target by 4 runs. Ishan Hodarkar’s spell of 2-8 was supported by Siddhesh Bodke, Anish Kakode, Kauntey Shenvi, Sachin Sardesai, Dattaraj Pai Fondekar and Saeesh Prabhudesai by picking a wicket each.

Match 3: SinQ Rangers vs Mapusa Dream Crushers
Electing to bat first under lights, Mapusa Dream Crushers were in trouble at 13-3 but Sarvesh Kamat 21, Pankaj Naik 27, Keshav Bhat 33 and Anish Mahambrey 20 helped the Dream Crushers to put a sizeable 154 in 20 overs. Mohit Kamat with 3-25 was the pick of the bowlers and was assisted by Amogh Namshiker 2-14, Tunish Sawkar 2-28 and Samprabh Phaldesai 1-20.
The SinQ Rangers started in blazing fashion with Wakao CEO Sairaj Dhond making 32 to lead the charge and received good support from Smit Dalvi who made 21.
Dream Crushers found it difficult to grip the ball under the night dew at MCC and Sahil Adwalpalkar 35, Sanat Mhapne 35 and Tunish 20 not out made full use of the advantage taking the SinQ Rangers to a comfortable 6 wickets win with 11 balls to spare as they reached 157-4 in 18.1 overs. Durgesh Prabhugaonkar 1-15 and Paarth Kossambe 1-17 picked the wickets.

All the 10 participating teams will be playing on the 10th day of Sarsangan Super Series on Sunday 29th December with Mapusa Dream Crushers taking on MLT Cricket Club and Vimson Panjim Powerplay facing Desserts n More Avengers at Arlem Ground. Ultracon Madgaon Royals will cross swords against DNS / VMJ’s Rookies and SinQ Rangers will face Priority Titans at MCC Ground during the day while the showpiece event of the day would be the floodlight match between Commonwealth Fountainheads and 108 Delite Titans at MCC Ground with the match to start at 6:30 pm.
