ARLEM: SinQ Rangers crushed Ultracon Madgaon Royals by 68 runs on the 4th day of the 7th edition of Rajdeep Builders Sarsangan Super Series Cricket 2024-25 at Arlem Cricket Ground; while in the second match, Mapusa Dream Crushers edged past Commonwealth Fountainheads by 6 runs in a nail biting encounter.
Put into bat, SinQ Rangers got off to a disastrous start losing both their openers Neelay Naik Dalal (7) and Sairaj Dhond (12) with the score reading 21-2 in 3rd over. The SinQ skipper Sahil Adwalpalkar (35, 27 balls, 4 x 4s) along with Smit Dalvi (20, 16 balls, 3 x 4s) put on a quick 61-run partnership in 39 balls, as the SinQ Rangers reached 82 at the half way stage.
A quickfire 36 (17 balls, 2x4s, 3x6s) by Gaurav Gaitonde with good support from Sachin Kenkre (12) and Sanat Mhapne (10) swung the momentum in favour of the SinQ Rangers before Samprabh Phaldesai 31 (15 balls, 4x 4s, 1 x 6s) took them to a massive 189/7 in 20 overs. Adv, Gaurish Agni was the at his economical best returning with figures of 2-18 off his 3 overs with Nikit Naik Dalal picking 2-34 while Siddesh Desai, Megh Netravalkar and Shaunit Sawardekar picked a wicket each.
In reply, Royals skipper Damodar Pai Patnekar was at his belligerent best as he stroked his way to 23 (14 balls, 3 x 4s, 1 x 6s) but sadly it turned out to be the highest score for his team, as none of the batters could convert after getting good starts. Saaiel Kossambe (17), Nikit Naik Dalal (10), Megh Netravalkar (16), Kartik Hattangadi (10) all perished going for big hits to the wily off spinner Neelay Naik Dalal who returned with dream figures of 4-19 in his 3 overs.
The lower order also did not contribute much with Mahendra Audi (5), Sarvesh Prabhugaonkar (5), Siddesh Desai (14) and Prasheel Kamat (11) falling quickly as the Royals folded up on 121 in the 15th over, giving the SinQ Rangers a win by 68 runs and a massive boost to their Net Run Rate. Neelay Naik Dalal 4-19, Mohit Kamat 2-3, Samprabh Phaldesai 2-18 and Tunish Sawkar 1-21 were the successful bowlers.
The following individual prizes were awarded: Samprabh Phaldesai – Drogaria Colvalcar Man-of-the Match, Gaurav Gaitonde – Priority Constructions Best Batter and Neelay Naik Dalal – Wakao Best Bowler. Krishna alias Daji Salkar, MLA of Vasco and Chairman, SGPDA was the Chief guest for the ceremony in the morning during which he wished all the teams the very best for the tournament.
Match 2: Mapusa Dream Crushers vs Commonwealth Fountainheads
Electing to bat first on a pitch conducive to batting, Mapusa Dream Crushers were given a rousing start by the openers Durgesh Prabhugaonkar striking 35 (11 balls, 7 x 4s, 1 x6s) and Sarvesh Kamat 35 (23 balls, 5 x 4s) as they put on 103-3 at the half way stage with Pankaj Naik (16) and the young 14 year old Adeep Prabhu Miskin (31) helping the cause.
Though the Dream Crushers lost 2 wickets in 2 balls to the left arm spin of Pratap Prabhugaonkar, Paarth Kossambe (13) and Mahesh Churi (14) steadied the innings before Varun Kudchadkar swung the momentum with an entertaining innings of 32 (12 balls, 2 x 4s, 3 x 6s) with some lusty hitting all across the field, as the Dream Crushers posted a massive 191/7 in 20 overs. Pratap Prabhugaonkar 2-41, Amey Rajadhyax 1-29, Saish Hegde 1-22 and Yash Prabhugaonkar 1-20 were the successful bowlers.
In reply, the Fountainheads came up with a befitting reply as Aamod Talauliker 29 (20 balls, 2 x 4s, 1 x 6s) and Gaurish Shenvi Lotlikar 35 (16 balls, 5 x 4s, 1 x 6s) tore into the bowling putting on an opening stand of 51 in 27 balls. Though Amey Rajadhyax (12) perished early, Aditya Prabhugaonkar kept the Fountainheads in the hunt with a calculated innings of 36 (23 balls, 4 x 4s), mixing aggression with caution and helping the Fountainheads to reach 130-4 in 13.2 overs.
The departure of Aditya saw a sudden collapse as Prabhakar Shetye (6), Kedar Kamat (6), Yash Prabhugaonkar (13) and Laxmikant Kurade (2) all fell as Fountainheads reached 167-6 needing 25 in 11 balls. Amod Borkar 22 no (13 balls) and the young Saish Hegde 12 (7 balls) tried their best but a good last over from Paarth Kossambe restricted the Fountainheads to 185-7 in 20 overs, thus giving the Mapusa Dream Crushers a narrow but an important win by 6 runs and crucial 2 points. Kritin Bhangui 2-33 was the most successful bowler with Sarvesh Kamat 1-37, Vipul Deshprabhu 1-18, Mahesh Churi 1-27 and Paarth Kossambe 1-25 supporting him.

The 5th day matches continue on Thursday 19th December with DNS/VMJ’s Rookies taking on 108 Delite Titans in the morning match while Priority Titans will face Vimson Panjim Powerplay in the afternoon match.
