MASHEM: Maruti Cricket Club beat United Cricket Club by three wickets and entered the quarter-finals of the 43rd Nanda Lolayekar Trophy Cricket Tournament at Nirakar Maidan, Dapot, Mashem-Canacona.
United Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first. Sapnish Satarkar top-scored with 74 runs (62 balls), Pravin Gawas contributed 57 runs (43 balls), while Prashant Patil chipped in with 28 runs. United CC were all out for 202 runs in 32 overs.
Shreyas Usgaokar (4/47), Vikram Gaitonde (3/45) and Rudresh Sharma (2/32) were the chief wicket-takers.
Maruti Cricket Club replied with 204/7 in 34.1 overs, in a successful chase powered by contributions from Omkar Bhandari (64 runs), Infancio Correa (42), Shaheen Surlakar (29 runs) and Manish Ydav (17 runs). Omkar Bhandari was named Man-of-the Match.
The 43rd Nanda Lolayekar Trophy tournament organised by Mashem Cricket Club, has been backed by Commonwealth Developers.
