Dharbandora: Panjim Gymkhana Cricket Academy bagged their first-ever title as they triumphed in the PIOC Juniors Champions League U-14 Cricket tournament at Dharbandora Panchayat ground on Thursday. PGCA beat Sai Samarth by 41 runs in the final today.
Paras Naik scored 63 runs off 52 balls, which included 10 boundaries and a sixer; while Vishesh Behl contributed 50 runs off 35 balls with the help of eight hits to the fence as Panjim Gymkhana posted a formidable total of 194/6 in the stipulated 25 overs.
In reply, Sai Samarth lost wickets in quick succession before Parth Mishal (54) – the lone warrior with the bat along with lower-order batter Maheer Mogvir (26), put up a bit of resistance to the rival bowlers before their side was bowled out for 153 runs in 24.1 overs.
PGCA’s Mubarak Tadapatri took 3/29, Vardaan Behl 2/18 and Anksh Cherian Deepak picked up 2/12 in an impressive team effort. Paras of PGCA was named Player of the Match.

PGCA head coach Sandeep Signapurkar was delighted with the effort of the boys as PGCA, which came into existence at the start of 2023, lifted their first trophy. “This is just the beginning. It is a special feeling,” said the former Goa Ranji Trophy cricketer, who is in his seventh month as coach at PGCA.
