MAPUSA: Panaji RCC excelled at the late Gurudas K. Dhulapkar Memorial all-Goa Under-14 boys cricket tournament at Peddem sports complex, Mapusa. In the final, Panaji RCC crushed Mapusa RCC by 10 wickets.
Electing to bat first, Mapusa RCC could only manage to score a paltry 123 runs before they were bowled out in 35.1 overs as batting proved a big struggle in the face of brilliant bowling performance by Panjim RCC’s Murnal Naik (6/28) in particular. Nevertheless, Ishant Tivrekar (34 runs), Kushal Satardakar (23) and Siddesh Jadhav (22) provided decent contributions with the bat.
The other bowlers to bag wickets for Panaji RCC were Swarit Gawade (2/22); Pranjal Singh and Shaurya Chondankar (1 wicket each).
In reply, Panaji RCC cruised to 126 for no loss in 17.2 overs. Adeep Miskin (61 not out) and Pranjal Singh (56 not out) powered the successful chase. Following prizes were awarded: Man of the match (final) – Mrunal Naik, Best batsman – Adeep Miskin, Most valuable player – Parth Shankpal (Vasco RCC).
