Panaji: Pioneers of scientific cricket coaching and one of the dedicated organisers of grassroots cricket tournaments to provide exposure to youngsters, Margao Cricket Academy now known as Margao Cricket Youth Club, will organise the 1st exposure Under-13 all-India invitational tournament from 19th May to 25th May at Konkan Railway ground in Margao.
Along with the former Ranji Trophy vice-captain and senior coach Hemant Pai Angle, who is the executive secretary of MCA, the organisers briefed the media here on Monday. The fast-approaching cricket tournament field is made up of eight teams with five teams from Goa while three teams are coming from other regions, stated Showmik Pai Angle. Amey Kossambe, Treasurer, and Ravindra Nevgi, Vice-President, were also present for the press conference.
RCC North Goa, RCC South Goa, MCC Academy, SNCA Moula Goa, and Vinod Dhamaskar CA will look to make the most of home conditions in the league phase with the two group-toppers going into the final. The visitors, which include AIM CA Sawantwadi, Union Gymkhana Belgaum and Just Cricket CA Bangalore, are expected to provide a strong challenge to the home teams.
Two matches (20 overs each) will be played every day (8.30am and 1.30pm) leading to the title clash, with a red ball and players dressed in whites.
