Margao: RMKS XI and Desserts N’More Avengers won their second consecutive match in the 2nd Goa Veteran Cricket League (GVCL), at MCC Ground here on Thursday.
RMKS XI got the better of Vasco Mariners by 13 runs in the first match today, while Desserts N’More Avengers scored a comprehensive 46-run victory over Gomanchal Warriors in the other game.
Sahil Dhuri’s quickfire unbeaten knock of 43 runs off 22 balls, was at the core of RMKS XI’s win as the captain displayed fine touch, hitting 4 boundaries and 2 sixes to take his side to a fighting total of 143/6. In reply, Vasco Mariners were all out for 130 in 18.1 overs with Dinesh Gawas being their top scorer with 34 runs. Siddhesh Prabhu Alvencar, Rajendra Dabholkar and Mrunmay Das took 2 wickets each. Sahil Dhuri was named Man of the Match and received the award from Dr. Baban Parulekar.
In the second match, Vikas Dessai put in the Man of the Match performance with 68-run knock off 48 balls to propel the Avengers to a challenging total of 152/4 with Naresh Parsekar also contributing with an unbeaten 49 runs inning. Gomanchal Warriors seemed to have no answer to their rival bowlers as they lost wickets one after the other before being all out for 106 runs. Tushar Sawant took 3 wickets while Yogesh Moratgikar and Pares Gaonkar claimed 2 wickets apiece. Vikas Dessai was presented the award by Vipul Phadke.
