PANAJI: Manthan Khutkar’s 155 was the highlight of the opening day of Goa Premier League 2025 as Manas Panjim Gymkhana amassed 335/4 against Priority Constructions MCC at Panjim Gymkhana ground here on Thursday.
Put into bat on a flat track, Manas Panjim Gymkhana cashed in on the batting friendly conditions with left-hander Manthan striking 18 boundaries and 2 sixes in his 213-ball stay at the crease before being run out towards the fag end of the day.
Subhranshu Senapati remained unbeaten on 105 runs, which included 12 boundaries and 3 sixes. He combined with Manthan in the massive partnership of 177 runs for the fourth wicket.
MCC bowlers had to sweat it out on the hot day, with 2 wickets to show for captain Felix Alemao and 1 wicket for P Tapaswi.
Elsewhere, Desserts N’More Geno SC were all out for 214 against Chowgule SC, who were 29/2 at stumps at GCA ground, Sanguem; while Salgaocar CC were skittled out for 163 with Dempo CC being 84/3 at the end of play on Day 1 at GCA ground, Porvorim.
