Goa scored a comfortable six-wicket victory over Manipur at Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament in progress in Ranchi. This is Goa’s second consecutive win in the 2023-24 season opening tournament.
Electing to field first, Goa restricted Manipur to 122/9. Shubham Tari (2/14), Arjun Tendulkar (2/27), captain Darshan Misal (1/15), Vikas Singh (1/11), Mohit Redkar (1/21) and Lakshay Garg (1/34) tasted success with the ball.
In the chase, Goa lost Rahul Tripathi cheaply but Ishaan Gadekar (34; 5×4, 1×6) and wicketkeeper Siddharth KV, promoted to No3, got the pursuit on the right track with a stand of 53 runs. Siddharth top-scored with 39 runs coming from his bat with the help of six boundaries and a maximum. Suyash Prabhudesai remained unbeaten on 25 off 11 balls while Darshan contributed 16 runs as Goa romped to 123/4 in 16.2 overs.
