GCA President, Vipul Phadke and Joint-Secretary, Rupesh Naik addressed a press conference and revealed the details, here on Tuesday.
“Through this course for umpires, we intend to improve the continuous professional development of our umpires so as to enable them to perform better when they go for BCCI exams,” disclosed Phadke.
“All interested ex-Ranji players and even cricket enthusiasts have to (compulsory) fill in the Google form that has been uploaded on the GCA Facebook and website,” he added.
Rupesh Naik informed that the scorers have also been invited to attend the course so as to keep them abreast with the latest technology.
The upcoming 2023-24 season is expected to start from October 15. “We want to start the season with inter-school matches,” said Naik.
“We will be using the latest technology and briefing our scorers on its use,” further stated Naik.
“Once the technology is acquired, our scorers will be put through a course,” he added.
Phadke also disclosed that a Live scoring app is in the offing. “GCA is in the process of introducing an app which will provide scores of all matches conducted by GCA. We hope to have the app ready by December and intend covering all matches Live,” he said.
