Goa registered an eight-wicket victory over Gujarat in the Dr Capt K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament, chasing down a target of 151 in just 24.5 overs at the Bala Gangadharanatha Swamy School Ground in Bengaluru.
Goa’s successful chase was anchored by Suyash Prabhudessai and Abhinav Tej Rana, who put together a 110-run partnership for the second wicket. Prabhudessai played an aggressive knock of 61 off 48 balls, hitting six fours and four sixes. Tej Rana remained unbeaten on 69 off 81 balls, with nine fours. Deepraj Gaonkar was unbeaten on nine.
Gujarat, after conceding a 137-run first-innings lead, made a strong effort in their second innings, scoring 287 in 72.3 overs. Smit Patel top-scored with 71, while Jaymeet Patel contributed 63 and Sunpreet Bagga made 34.
For Goa, Darshan Misal was the most successful bowler with four wickets for 69 runs. Yash Kasvankar claimed three wickets for 67, while Lalit Yadav took two for 58.
Goa had earlier posted 386 in the first innings against Gujarat’s 249, securing a crucial 137-run lead. Gujarat’s second-innings total of 287 set Goa a target of 151, which the visitors achieved comfortably to complete the eight-wicket victory.
