MARGAO: In a high-scoring final, Stamina Club Porvorim outclassed the Seiko Club Margao by 21 runs to lift the 4th Chandrakant Karapurkar Trophy at the floodlit Dr Rajendra Prasad ground, MCC.
Putting Stamina into bat seemed to have backfired for their rivals, as Stamina openers stitched a 101 runs partnership in just 7.2 overs. Sahil Dhuri (74) and Ninad Pawaskar (34) smashed the Seiko bowlers to all corners of the ground. Abhinav Bhat chipped in with 41. Om Phadte took 3 wickets, but could not stop the Stamina team from posting a challenging 191 for 7 in stipulated 20 overs.
