Margao: The King’s School thrashed MIBK High School Khandepar by 248 runs in the zonal semi-final of Goa Cricket Association’s Dilip Sardesai Trophy cricket tournament here on Thursday.
Put into bat, The King’s School plundered 346/6 in the allotted 45 overs with Venkat Chigurupati making the highest score of 113 runs off 85 balls. His unbeaten knock comprised 14 boundaries and one sixer.
Shamik Kamat also struck a fine century, scoring 110 runs off 106 balls, which included 10 boundaries and one sixer. Aradhya Goyal contributed 49 runs off 45 balls. He cracked four boundaries and a sixer.
MIBK bowlers had a very tough day in general. Rohan Gaonkar (2/65), Chetan Khedekar (2/81) and Rudresh Shet (1/55) were amongst the wickets.
In reply, MIBK were bowled out for 98 runs in 16.5 overs. Somesh Prabhu (34), Mayuresh Naik (20) and Darshil Parkar (14) entered double digits.
For The King’s School, Venkat and Aradhya Goyal took three wickets each while Shamik picked up two wickets.
