MARGAO: Umang Gosavi put in an all-round show to help Sports and Welfare Club of Zaino beat Vijay Cricket Club by 8 runs in a closely fought match of the 3rd Chandrakant Karapurakar T20 Tournament on Sunday.
Umang top-scored for Zaino with his 56-run knock propelling his team to a decent total of 166/5 in 20 overs, while supporting contribution from Jay Dadmode (35) and Mahendra Kopardekar (33) also proved crucial. Vijay CC bowling duo of Shreyas Usgaonkar (3/25) and Shailesh Redkar (2/35) were the key wicket-takers.
In reply, Vijay Cricket Club were all out for 158 in 19.3 overs (Badal Naik 28, Izhan Shaikh 22). Zaino’s Mahendra Kopardekar (3/13); Vishal Gaude and Man-of-the Match Umang Gosavi (both 2 wickets each) pegged their rivals back to snatch a hard-fought victory for Zaino.
