Govt College Khandola & Govt College Sanquelim advanced into the next round of the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Cricket Championship 2022-23 organised by Goa University.
In the first match, Govt. College, Khandola, defeated G.V.M’s GGPR College, Ponda, by 2 wickets.
Govt. College Khandola, won the toss and elected to field. They restricted G.V.M’s College to 136/8 in 20 overs. Ved Patel was the highest scorer with 57 runs off 49 balls. Pratham Vaidhya contributed 38 runs from 41 balls. Rushikesh Naik (1-20) and Prasad Harle (1-23) were the wicket-takers for Khandola college.
In reply, Govt. College, Khandola, notched up the victory target 137/8 in 19 overs. Prasad Harle (37 off 18 balls) and Shardul Shet (15) made notable contributions with the bat. Saniket More (3-13) and Gaurang Gaonkar (2-21) bowled well for G.V.M’s.
In the second match, Govt. College, Sanquelim, defeated Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao, by 3 runs.
Put into bat, Govt. College, Sanquelim, posted a challenging total of 159/8 in 20 overs. Govind Mahale with 35(36) and Ganesh Kerkar with 32(27), were the main run-getters. Hritvik Sardessai (2-25) and Manthan Sawant (2-35) were the chief wicket-takers for Chowgule.
In a nail-biter of a chase, Chowgule College were all out for 156 in 20 overs. Devankumar Chittem with 29(12) and Ruveen M with 22(16) scored most runs than any other batter in the side. Sanket Zore (3-31) and Sahil Majik (2-24) were the chief wicket-takers for Sanquelim.
