S.S. Dempo College and S. Caculo College entered the semi-finals of the Inter-Collegiate Cricket Championship 2022-23 organised by Goa University.
Dempo College defeated P.G. Goa University by 4 wickets in the first quarter-final.
Dempo College, who elected to field, bowled out P.G Goa University 123 in 19.3 overs. Alam Khan scored 63 runs off 41 balls to provide the backbone for PG total. The other notable contributor was Shasank with 12 (25). Dempo’s Sagar Vantamuri (3-23) and Abhinandan Thakur (2-26) bowled well.
Dempo College chased down the target emphatically, reaching 124/6 in 14.4 overs, with key contributions from Anand Tendulkar 37 runs off 28 balls, and Sagar Vatamuri with 33 off 18 balls. P.G Goa University’s Aniket Singh (2-22) and Chandrashekar Gaonkar (1-19) were amongst the wickets.
In the second quarter-final, S. Caculo College defeated Don Bosco College of Engineering by 91 runs.
Rudraksh Sangodkar’s 64 runs off 43 balls laid a solid foundation as Caculo College posted a big total of 162/7 in 20 overs after opting to bat first. Saiesh Kerkar scored 25 runs off 24 balls. Don Bosco bowlers

In reply, Don Bosco were skittled out for 71 runs in 15.4 overs as Anish Raul (3-19) and Rudraksh Sangodkar (2-04) emerged the chief wicket-takers. There was some resistance from Don Bosco batting line-up, in the form of Ayush Karapurkar with 17 not out while Dhanraj Shetkar scored 16 runs.
The remaining two quarter-finals will be played on April 3.
