Porvorim: Goa’s Snehal Kauthankar and Kashyap Bakhle rewrote history with their triple centuries while taking the hosts to their biggest win that by an innings and 551 runs in Ranji Trophy Plate Group match against Arunachal Pradesh at Goa Cricket Association Academy ground on Thursday.
Kauthankar (314 not out) and Bakhle (300 not out) slammed the second and third-fastest First-Class triple hundreds respectively on their way to a record unbroken partnership of 606 runs in 448 balls.
Snehal faced 215 balls out of which he it four sixes and 45 boundaries. Kashyap struck 39 boundaries and two sixes as they dismantled Arunachal bowling attack and Goa declared their first innings at 727/2 in 92 overs.
In their second innings, the minnows of Indian domestic cricket having debuted in 2018-19 season, Arunachal Pradesh were dismissed for 92 runs. Lakshay Garg picked up 4/43, while Deepraj Gaonkar and Keith Pinto took two wickets each.
Already having qualified for Elite Group for next season, Goa brought up their fifth win from as many games in the Plate Group on the second day itself in grand style. GCA Secretary Rohan Gauns Dessai hailed today’s effort by Snehal and Kashyap saying, “monumental achievement showcases the team’s exceptional skill, dedication, and teamwork. Snehal and Kashyap’s incredible partnership will be etched in the annals of cricket history.”
