Gautami Naik scored a fine century to inspire MCC Estilo Legends to a four-wicket victory over Celeste Superwomen, in a result which moved the Margao-based club to the top of the Goa Women’s Premier League table with three consecutive wins.
Player of the match, Gautami blazed 13 boundaries and four sixes in her knock of 103 runs off 67 deliveries as the tall opener single-handedly guided MCC Estilo Legends to the victory target of 172 runs with four wickets in hand, off the last ball of the 20th over.
Earlier, Celeste Superwomen won the toss and batted first and put up another strong total as the consistent Jasia Akhtar (53 off 26; 4×4, 4×6) and Preeti Yadav (46 off 34; 4×4, 2×6) did the bulk of the scoring along with notable contributions from Sayali Lonkar (27 off 13balls) and Riya Naik (25). MCC Estilo Legends captain Sunanda Yetrekar picked up 2 wickets while Gautami Naik and Kesha Patel took a wicket each.
