Porvorim: Dempo Cricket Club took first innings lead over leaders Manas Panjim Gymkhana with the day witnessing high drama as both the teams were bowled out on the opening day of the last round of league stage in the Goa Cricket Association’s Goa Premier League at GCA Academy ground here on Wednesday.
While Manas Panjim Gymkhana have already booked a spot in the GPL Final, Dempo CC require a bonus-point win and result of the match between Chowgule SC & Priority Constructions MCC to go in their favour to make it to the final.
Elsewhere, Salgaocar Cricket Club rode on centuries by Sanath Nevagi and Snehal Kauthankar against Desserts N’More Geno SC to end Day 1 at a healthy position of 379/4 at Panjim Gymkhana ground.
Over at MCC Ground, Margao, Priority Constructions MCC were all out for 170 runs against second-placed Chowgule SC, who were 75/2 at Stumps.
