Porvorim: Goa Police got the better of Goa Press with a 26-run victory in an exhibition T20 match at the GCA Academy Ground, here on Sunday.
Batting first, Goa Police posted a big total of 186/6 in their 20 overs. Despite a spirited chase led by Shailesh Zantye (53 runs) and a solid contribution from Prasad Patil (33 runs), Goa Press fell short of the target, managing 160/6 in their response.
Sanchit Kandolkar was the standout performer for Goa Police, top-scoring with strokeful 57 runs. His knock was the backbone of the team’s innings, helping them reach a competitive total. Goa Police’s bowlers, backed by solid fielding, were able to control the chase and restrict Goa Press from reaching the target.
Akshat Kaushal (SP North Crime), Omvir Singh (IGP), DGP Alok Kumar, Rahul Gupta (SP Cyber Crime), DySP Vishwesh Karpe, and Crime Branch PI Rahul Parab also showcased their cricketing skills in the match.
