PEDDEM: Public Works Department defeated Goa Tourism by 7 wickets in State Civil Services Tournament at Peddem ground.
Put in to bat, Goa Tourism could manage only 100-6 in their allotted 18 overs with Deep making 33 (37 balls, 3×4, 1×6), Dattaraj 20 (28 balls, 1×4, 1×6) and Mandar 19 (19 balls, 2×4, 1×6), being the top contributors.
PWD captain Shailesh Naik was in superb form as he returned with match figures of 4-0-7-3. He received good support from Saurav Chari and Naresh Parsekar, both picking a wicket apiece.
In reply, PWD won the match by 7 wickets and with 9.4 overs to spare, scoring 102-3 in just 8.2 overs. Vikas Desai top-scored making unbeaten 50 runs off 23 balls (7×4, 2×6). Sudhakar Kholkar scored 15 runs (16 balls, 3×4), and Sameer contributed 15 not out (7 balls, 3×4). Gauresh with 2-11 and Milind with 1-45 were the successful bowlers for Goa Tourism.
Shailesh Naik and Vikas Desai were jointly adjudged the Player of the Match. PWD will play their pre-quarterfinal match on Saturday 22 March 2025 at Peddem Sports Complex at 9 am.
