Goa beat Uttrakhand by seven wickets in convincing fashion in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy in Nagpur on Saturday.
Electing to bat, Uttarakhand were restricted to 111/8 with Goa bowling in a disciplined manner. Experienced international pacer Shikha Pandey spearheaded the bowling department with impressive figures of 2/13 off her four overs. Poorva Bhaidkar, Tarannum Pathan, Sunanda and Priyanka took one wicket each.
Purvaja Verlekar opening the Goa chase , played an assured knock of 44 runs off 54 balls. She struck eight boundaries and put on 53 runs for the second wicket with Sunanda (20).
Captain Sanjula Naik scored an unbeaten 27 runs off 19 balls and registered five boundaries. Tarannum contributed 10 runs with the bat. Goa reached the victory target at 112/3 in 17.3 overs.
