Kalay: Khutkar Brothers beat Freedom Boys by one wicket in a closely-contested final of Kalay Premier League T20 Rolling Trophy tournament organised by Frontline Cricket Academy-Kalay in the memory of Late Shobhavati Bicholkar, at Kalay Panchayat Ground.
Batting first, Freedom Boys posted a challenging total of 180/8 in the allotted 20 overs. Gaurish Gaonkar (46 runs) Kiran Shelke (42), Bala Shelke (31), Sandesh Shelke (16) and Rajendra Shelke (15) provided valuable contribution with the bat.
Khutkar Brothers bowlers Aryan Khutkar (3 wickets), Rohan Khutkar (2 wickets) Eknath Khutkar and Kuldeep Khutkar (1 wicket each) were the wicket-takers.
Khutkar Brothers reached the target 182/9 in 19.3 overs with fantastic contributions from opener Aryan Khutkar (64 not out) and Kuldeep Khutkar (62 runs). Rohit Khutkar (22 runs) and Ankush Khutkar (19 runs) scored handy runs.
Baban Shingadi was the top wicket-taker with 4 victims to his name. Rupesh Shelke took 2 wickets while Satendra Shelke picked up 1 wicket.
Winners Khutkar Brothers were awarded Rs 15,000 and a trophy while runners-up Freedom Boys were presented Rs. 10,000 and a trophy. Following individual prizes were awarded: Man of the Final – Aryan Khutkar of Khutkar Brothers, Best Batsman – Rohit Khutkar of Khutkar Brothers, Best Bowler – Baban Shingadi (Freedom Boys), Man of the tournament – Aryan Khutkar, Best Fielder – Amol Bailur (Thorlemol Boys), Best catch of the tournament – Rohan Khutkar.
