PERNEM: Bhagwati Cricketers emerged champions after defeating S.B. Naik Cricketers by 7 wickets in the final of the 1st Goa Women’s Tennis Ball Cricket League 2026, held at the Multipurpose Indoor Stadium, Sawalwada, Pernem, Goa.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, S.B. Naik Cricketers scored 44 runs in 6 overs. In reply, Bhagwati Cricketers comfortably chased down the target in 5 overs to lift the inaugural title. In the third-place playoff, Antruz Queens defeated Takshvi Queen.
The Goa Women Tennis Ball Cricket League 2026 was organised by Vidhya Vardhini Art & Sports Club in collaboration with the Goa Tennis Ball Cricket Association (GTBCA) and supported by the Sports Authority of Goa and Department of Legal Metrology, Government of Goa.
The league witnessed enthusiastic participation from eight women’s teams from across the state.
Following individual prizes were awarded: Best Batter: Deesha Kambli, Best Bowler: Khushi Palkar, Player of the League: Deesha Kambli, Player of the Final: Sandhya Rai.
The closing ceremony was graced by Sanjiv Gadkar, Secretary, Department of Legal Metrology, Government of Goa, as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present included Arjun Gadekar, APEO, Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs (DSYA); Franky Rodrigues, TSO; Siddhesh Shirgaonkar, Inspector, Department of Legal Metrology, Pernem; Sandhya Paliekar, President, Vidhya Vardhini Art & Sports Club; and other guests.
