SHREE DAMODAR HIGH SCHOOL CLINCH GCA U-14 PRESIDENT’S CUP

MAPUSA: Shree Damodar High School, Margao, emerged champions of the Goa Cricket Association Under-14 Boys President’s Cup 2025-26, defeating Saraswat Vidyalaya, Mapusa, by 20 runs in the state-level final played at the Chapora ground on Monday.

After winning the toss, Saraswat Vidyalaya opted to field first. Shree Damodar High School put up a competitive total of 100 for 3 in 10 overs, thanks largely to a captain’s knock of 43 runs off 30 balls from Rumaan Mulam, who powered their innings with confidence and maturity. Valuable contributions came from Usman Ghani (21 off 18 balls) and Abishek Lamani, who remained unbeaten on 13 from just four deliveries.

For Saraswat Vidyalaya, Samarth Dhulapkar returned figures of 2 for 14, while Kavish Sawant claimed one wicket.

In reply, Saraswat Vidyalaya finished on 80 for 5 in the allotted 10 overs. Samarth Gawas fought hard with 37 runs off 28 balls, while Daivik Vaigankar remained unbeaten on 13. The chase was effectively restricted by disciplined bowling from Shree Damodar High School, with Mulam claiming 2 wickets for 8 runs and Ansh Kashyap taking one wicket.

The all-round effort from the skipper proved decisive, as he starred with both bat and ball to guide his team to the state title. His leadership has been a defining feature of the school’s successful season, during which the Under-14 team reached three state finals. Under his captaincy, Shree Damodar High School lifted two state championship trophies and finished runners-up in another tournament.

GCA Director of Coaching & Cricket Operations, Prakash Mayekar; Rajan Dhamshekar, Siddesh Salgaonkar, Aniket Mayekar, and Ravindra Barve were present for the prize distribution ceremony.

With this victory, Shree Damodar High School capped off an outstanding campaign and added another prestigious state title to its growing list of achievements, underlining its status as one of Goa’s leading school cricket teams.
