Centuries by Suyash Prabhudessai and Abhinav Tejrana took Goa past Punjab’s first-innings total on Day 3 of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match in New Chandigarh on Monday.
In reply to Punjab’s 325, Goa were sitting pretty with 439/3 with a lead of 114 runs. Opener Suyash was the top scorer with a scintillating contribution of 149 runs, which included 17 boundaries; while Abhinav entertained big time on his way to 131 runs off 140 balls, which comprised 7 sixes and 6 boundaries.
Manthan Khutkar was out on 86 runs. Continuing the strong batting show, Goa captain Snehal Kauthankar is unbeaten on 54 runs while Lalit Yadav is on 3.
The main highlight of Goa’s assured batting display was the massive 222-run partnership between Suyash and Manthan.
