Margao: Stamina CC cruised to a 65-run win against Bannersmen Sports Club at 3rd Chandrakant Karapurkar Trophy at MCC ground.
Siddharth Karpe scored a stunning 98 off 51 deliveries, which included 11 boundaries and 4 sixes, to power Stamina CC to a huge total of 216/6 in 20 overs. Sarvesh Sawant (43) and Nishant Nagarkar (42) contributed valuable runs.
Siddharth was involved in two massive partnerships, first with Sarvesh of 114 runs for the 3rd wicket and then of 74 runs with Nishant for the 4th wicket.
Atith Naik (3/38) and Swapnil Gone (2/21) were amongst the wickets.
In reply, Bannersmen Sports Club put up a disappointing show as half their side was back in the pavilion inside the fifty-run mark with just over 8 overs bowled.
Swapnil Gone was the top-scorer with 38 runs to his name. He was involved in the 6th-wicket partnership of 62 runs with Rahul Kanojia (27). Tauhed D. remained unbeaten on 30 off 13 balls.
Manish Nirawadekar (3/26) and Yuvraj Singh (2/31) were the key wicket-takers for Stamina CC.
